Canadian Utility Construction (CUC), a Quanta Services company, provides quality underground construction services to utility companies throughout Western Canada. We specialize in a full range of construction and maintenance services for the Natural Gas Distribution and Transmission industry. CUC is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join our Courtenay team and be responsible for operating Heavy Equipment around high pressure underground natural gas lines in tight areas. Our Equipment Operator is a professional operator and is committed to safety, continuous improvement, and ongoing learning and development.
The successful candidate will have
- A minimum of 5 years' experience excavating around gas distribution systems.
- Experience operating equipment around live underground utilities.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License, Class 5 required plus a clean driving record.
- Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong belief in Live Safe.
- A willingness to travel to other operational areas as required.
